Ice Cream Nail Art

At last! I have finally found some creativity and done some nail art! And to fit in with this glorious weather, I have done a summer theme - Ice Cream! Mmmm.

Ice cream cones and dripping ice cream:

I used loads of different nail varnishes for this design including Barry M, Models Own and Avon. Here's what I used:

Top: Barry M - Matte White and Lychee

Middle: Models Own - Bubblegum, Blueberry Muffin, Lemon Meringue
Avon - Sea Breeze
Barry M - Papaya

Bottom: Barry M Confetti - Marshmallow, Dolly Mixture, Liquorice
Avon - Nail Art Tool

This was actually quite an easy design to do, and it was fun deciding what flavour ice creams to have! I've got Orange, Mint choc chip, Lemon Meringue, Blueberry and Bubblegum!

I added 'sprinkles' to the ice cream in cones which you can see better on this close-up picture:

For the sprinkles I used a few different Barry M Confetti polishes, the one you can see above is Liquorice. I also used Marshmallow and Dolly Mixture on my other nails.

I expected the dripping effect to be quite tricky to do but it has actually worked really well. I used a nail pen to draw the outline and then filled it in with a thin brush. And for the ice cream in the cones, I used quite a few layers to give it a 3D effect and some texture which has worked but isn't very noticeable in pictures.

And after painting all those ice creams I obviously got a bit peckish, so I went out and bought the biggest ice cream I have ever had ( a scoop of Bubblegum and a scoop of Turkish Delight incase you're interested!). And here it is with my ice cream nails:

What do you think of my ice cream nail art? Will you be giving the dripping effect a go yourself? Let me know what you think :)
