Models Own: Tropical Sun

Another summery swatch today; Models Own Tropical Sun.

Tropical Sun makes me think of a beach during sunset - a golden orange.

Tropical Sun is from Models Own Beetlejuice collection, which they describe as:

'inspired by the beautiful wings of a beetle'

And I must agree, the polish contains different tones so it appears to be changing colour as you move your hand around - just like a beetle's wings.

Tropical Sun shows tones of pink and orange, with a gold shimmer. This was very difficult to capture on camera, but these pictures should give you an idea:

You can't see the pink tones in these pictures which is a shame because it makes the polish shimmer. There are also very fine pieces of glitter in it, which I think give it a nice finish.

 Natural Light (outside):

In natural light, Tropical Sun has more tones and 'colour changes'

Indoors (with natural light):

Indoors, but still with natural light, the polish looks more orange.
In artificial light, the pink tones show, however it is too difficult to see through the camera.

I have used 3 coats of Tropical Sun, I found that it is very sheer, which is great if you want a natural look. The picture below shows just one coat:

1 Coat
Two coats is no longer sheer, and there isn't really much difference between 2 and 3 coats.

The polish is very easy to apply, and with it being quite sheer you can get away with mistakes unlike bold colours where rough edges show easily, so definitely suitable if you are in a rush!

I love all the colours and tones in this polish, it really is beautiful, and I'm a bit annoyed that I couldn't show that in the pictures.

What do you think of Tropical Sun? I think it is a great summer polish and I can see myself wearing it in the evening on holiday. Do you have anymore of the Beetlejuice collection? If you do, leave me a comment with your blog post because I'd love to see them so I can decide which others to add to my collection!
