Sunset Mosaic

I have to admit that I am quite proud of this one! Although it doesn't look anywhere near as good as I had hoped I am still very happy with it! So here it is, my Sunset Mosaic nail art:

Here's what I used to create this sunset look:

Avon Nail Art Tool
Barry M Nail Art Pen in White
Barry M: Base & Top Coat, Matte White, Pomegranate, Mango
Models Own: Lemon Meringue

I've done the mosaic effect before but I think this one looks a lot neater, maybe because I used a new method. I tried 3 different methods for this one:

 1) I made a gradient using the sponge method than used a nail pen to draw the lines of the mosaic pattern - This looked messy!

 2) I painted the shapes on with a brush then went between them with a white nail pen - This also looked messy!

 3) So I painted a white base coat and then painted the shapes on - And this looked a lot better.

I mixed colours together to make the gradient. So I used Pomegranate, Pomegranate mixed with Mango, Mango, Mango mixed with Lemon Meringue and then Lemon Meringue... If that makes sense! You will see what I mean by looking at the pictures...

I wish I had put the mosaic pattern on all of my nails, but maybe it would have looked a bit too much?

Sorry, I've got quite a few pictures for this post!

So what do you think of my Sunset Mosaic nails? I think these will look great on holiday so I might have to recreate them for when I go in 10 days! Will you be trying them?
