Models Own: Sardonyx - Love Hearts

 Hello!

I've got another beautiful polish from Models Own new Velvet Goth collection to show you today; Sardonyx.

Sardonyx is a deep red polish with lots of fine pieces of red glitter throughout. Like the rest of the Velvet Goth collection, Sardonyx dries matte and although it is a glitter polish you can't feel the texture, you can only see it! Or as Models Own say so themselves:

If you have seen my post of Obsidian, which is also from the Velvet Goth collection, you will know that I tried some nail art with it. I also chose to some nail art with Sardonyx as there are plenty of swatches of the polishes by themselves around now, so I want to show you their versatility. Here's what I came up with:

Here I have gone for a simple heart design using Sardonyx along with Barry M's Matt White.

I love pairing red and white together!

Although Sardonyx dries matte, it still sparkles. However I thought I would see how it looked with a glossy top coat too:

Which do you prefer, glossy or matte? I'm undecided on this one, I preferred Obsidian as a matte finish, but I think this looks gorgeous both ways!

 Review:
Sardonyx is easy to apply and dries quickly. I have used two coats on my nails. I found that Sardonyx was thicker than Obsidian meaning that the finish wasn't quite as smooth as it was for Obsidian, however it still applies a lot easier than most glitter polishes and doesn't clump. I have also found that the Velvet Goth polishes are easier to remove than normal glitter polishes, which is fantastic because as we polish lovers know, glitter polish is a nightmare to remove!
I love the Velvet Goth collection so far, I find them far easier to use than other glitter polishes. I also love the colours they come in - perfect for Autumn and Winter. And although we are a still a little way off Christmas yet, I think they will make great Christmas nails!

I'm glad I have shown you how they can be used in nail art rather than just on their own. What do you think of Velvet Goth being used in nail art?

Have you got your hands on Velvet Goth yet? Or is it on your shopping list? I'd love to know what you think of them - leave me a comment :)
