Polish Party September Challenge - Autumn

Today I've got my design for Polish Party's first challenge. A few weeks ago myself and a couple of my favourite nail enthusiasts decided to create a group in which we decide a theme for the month and then create our own designs based on this theme. Then in the last week of the month we post our designs and include links to each others. You can read more about Polish Party and who is involved here.

September's theme was Autumn. I actually thought this was a tricky theme because all I could think of was leaves! But after a bit of Googling I found plenty of hedgehogs and acorns too.

Those of you that follow my blog will know that I love mosaic designs and the ones I have done previously have had great feedback. So I decided to give it another go with Autumn leaf colours. Here's what I came up with:

Here I've got a mosaic pattern on my thumb and ring finger and then falling leaves on the others. What do you think?

I'll admit that this wasn't my original idea, the mosaics were supposed to be gradient and the other fingers had cute little hedgehogs and acorns on but it didn't go to plan.

I had to do a lot of mixing of colours because I don't own many shades of orange, brown and green. The only colour that is straight from the bottle is Models Own Blueberry Muffin that I used for the sky behind the falling leaves.

The plan was to go outside and get some Autumn leaves to put in the background of my photos, but there was not one in sight - I couldn't believe it!

What do you think of my Autumn themed nails? Have you tried a mosaic pattern yourself?

Don't forget to check out the rest of Polish Party's posts - they are all very talented so make sure you take a look :)

  1. I love the combo with the mosaic and the leaves x

  2. Such a good idea - I love the mosaic effect, and the combination of colours is spot on! x
