Jacava London: Chillax*

Today I have another of Jacava London's luxury nail polishes to show you*. I'd had my eye on this colour for a while so I was ridiculously excited to receive it!

Jacava London are a fairly new company, so if you aren't familiar with them then have a read of what they have to say about themselves:

'Nail Polish by JACAVA® London is '8-free'. The nourishing formula helps your nails stay stronger and grow longer. JACAVA non-toxic Nail Varnish does not contain Formaldehyde, Camphor, Toluene, DBP, Cellophane, Phthalates or Animal Ingredients. There's no animal testing for any JACAVA vegan-friendly non-toxic nail lacquers. Our long-lasting, high-gloss nail polishes are designed in London and made in the UK - a quintessentially British nail varnish brand. A little treat where nothing is denied, even the 22 carat gold print adds subtle luxury.'

The thing I love most about Jacava polishes is how effortlessly they apply and their professional finish. Although the bottle and gold print adds luxury, I think the biggest luxury is applying the polish quickly, with no hassle, knowing it is going to look great and last for ages.

I've never applied a polish so easily, it just glides on so smoothly and full of colour, you don't need to mess around smoothing out clumps or putting on loads of layers to cover up streaks and make the colour opaque. The wand is also fantastic, I feel as though it has been perfectly designed for ease of use. I also like the brush, it is narrow, making application very tidy. Because of this, I have to agree with Jacava that this is a luxury polish - you get professional looking nails with very little effort.

Chillax is a beautiful metallic turquoise colour. It would be perfect in summer because it is so bright and eye-catching, however I will be wearing it all year round because I just love it so much - I can't stop looking at my nails! It reminds me of a beautiful beach with a perfectly clear, turquoise sea. I've had some lovely comments about the colour, it is quite unusual which is what makes it stand out so much.

Although I really love this colour, I was a bit disappointed that the picture on the website shows it to have more green tones throughout, when in reality it is more of a blue. I think it depends what light you are in though, inside with artificial light I would describe it as turquoise, whereas outside in natural light I would say it is an electric blue.

Review:

- High quality: very easy to apply leaving no streaks or clumps,
- It dries surprisingly quickly,
- Shiny, professional finish,
- Beautiful, unusual colour,
- The long wand and brush applies polish effortlessly, in fact they are long enough for the brush to reach the bottom of the bottle meaning you can get more or less every drop of polish out (I think this is a fantastic idea!),
- '8-free', this means they are free from many of the nasty chemicals that are often found in nail polishes and also aren't tested on animals! Read more about it here.

------------

At first I wasn't sure what to expect with the polishes being '8-free', my view was that if these 'nasties' are in a lot of other brand's polishes then they must be necessary? But no, I was wrong, very wrong!

Jacava polishes come with, what I think, quite a high price tag of £14.50. However, the more I use them, the more I realise that they really are worth it. If you consider the high-quality formula, the effortless application, large bottle and luxurious finish on top of them being '8-free', the price tag isn't really that high. Compared to other highly priced brands that don't provide this quality and luxury and aren't '8-free', you get a lot for your money. You are paying for a luxury polish, and that is certainly what you get.

Chillax is available on the Jacava London website for £14.50.
