Polish Party January Challenge - January Blues

Hi everyone!

It's that exciting time of the month again! This month's Polish Party theme is January Blues, so we could do anything we wanted as long as we used a blue colour scheme.

Here's what I came up with:

(Sorry, there's a lot of pictures in this post!)

I'm really proud of this one, I love how simple yet effective it looks. It was fairly easy to do, just quite time-consuming.

I used one of my favourite polishes, Models Own Blueberry Muffin (I absolutely love the smell of it!), Nails Inc Baker Street and Barry M Blackberry. I also used a white nail pen, JACAVA London's Matte Top Coat and nail studs.

To create the stripes I used my nail brushes to draw thin diagonal lines using the three blues, and then neatened them up by going in between using the white striping brush of my nail pen.

I had been wanting to do this design for a while but my original idea was to do it as a gradient, however I'm glad I did the colours randomly in the end, I like the contrast.

I hope you like them - I do! Let me know what you think, and don't forget to check out the rest of Polish Party's takes on the January Blues theme in the links below. Oh, and if you fancy joining Polish Party, you can read a bit about us here. Everyone is welcome to join, just let one of us know - the more the merrier!

  1. Oooh that's so pretty! The stripes remind me of a school tie as well.
