Barry M Spring 2014 Gelly Nail Effect Polishes Swatches & Review: Sugar Apple, Huckleberry & Rose Hip

Hi everyone,

Today I've got swatches of Barry M's new additions to their Gelly Nail Effects range for Spring 2014. I love their other Gelly polishes and these new pastel shades are a fantastic addition.

There are three beautiful pastel shades that are perfect for Spring; Sugar Apple (green), Huckleberry (blue) and Rose Hip (pink). I love pastels and I know I will be wearing these a lot over the next few months!

My swatches show each polish without a top coat, yet look how glossy and smooth the finish is!

Sugar Apple:

Rose Hip:

Huckleberry:

Huckleberry and Sugar Apple are actually quite similar in natural light as you can see in the pictures.

With all three of these polishes I found the first coat to be quite streaky. You could get away with two coats but three gave it the perfectly smooth and glossy finish that we have come to expect of the Gelly polishes. I actually think the formula of these three isn't as thick as that of the other polishes in the Gelly collection. This made them easier to apply and a smooth finish was very easily achieved. Personally, I like thick formulas but I think most people will prefer them this way as they glide on very easily. The drying time was also fairly quick, which is great!

I love the glossy finishes of the Gelly polishes, you can get such beautiful nails with very little effort, which is what I think we all love most about them!

Overall, beautiful colours, nice formula and a fantastic finish - I'd definitely recommend them!

I'd love to know what you think of these new additions so leave me a comment below. I can't make my mind up on which is my favourite but I know I'll be getting a lot of use out of them!
