Polish Party February Challenge - Chevrons

Hi everyone,

This month's Polish Party theme is Chevrons. I'll admit that I'm not too keen on chevrons so wasn't as excited as I usually am for Polish Party this month. However I am pleased with how my design turned out and enjoyed the challenge of incorporating the gradient as it's something I've always struggled with.

Here's what I came up with (there's loads of pictures, sorry!) ...

I used Models Own Hedonist, Tropical Sun and Lemon Meringue for the gradient and Models Own Artistix nail pen for the chevrons. I then used Jacava London's matte top coat for a matte finish. I felt like using bright colours as I've been wearing blue on my nails a lot lately. I love the gradient because it looks like a sunset and reminds me of the sunset mosaic design I did a while ago (you can see it here).

I found the gradient very difficult to do, I've never been able to do it properly. It was very messy too! I'm pleased with the result though, I thought it was going to go very wrong!

Let me know what you think of my design by leaving a comment below - I'd love to know if you like it too! And don't forget you can check out the rest of Polish Party's designs using the links at the bottom of the page. If you're interested in joining Polish Party then click here for more information and visit our Facebook page to request to join, everyone is welcome!

I hope you like my nails, I'm very happy with them! I wanted to do something special as it is The Naily Mail's 1st Birthday today (yay!). Click here to see my special birthday post :)
