Mini Watermelons

Although I am ridiculously busy at the moment, and should probably be revising for my exams rather than blogging, I couldn't resist doing a bit of nail art - I feel like it's been a while since I last did some.

I'm getting into the summer mood and have been wanting to do a fruit themed design for a while, so I painted some mini watermelons!

I used the new Barry M Summer Gellys in Coconut, Kiwi, and Pink Punch (you can see my swatches and review of the full collection here). To get the straight edge of the watermelons I used small pieces of striping tape.

Trust me to pick a watermelon that had no black seeds!

You know when you have an idea in your head and you think it's going to look amazing, but you end up being very disappointed? This was one of those times!

It actually took me 3 days to complete this because I was doing little bits in between doing assignments! Just 14 more days and I'll be back to blogging properly - I can't wait, I've got so much planned!

Oh, and if you saw my tweet about making a special trip to Asda for a watermelon to use as a prop, then this is why. The strange things us bbloggers do, hey?!

  1. YES!!! I know exactly what you mean, but I think your design turned out great. It's very cute. And that watermelon is really making me crave some right now!

    1. Haha I knew I wouldn't be alone on this one! Thank you :)

  2. I love these! The little watermelons are so cute and definitely something I'll be trying out! :)

    1. Thanks! I'd love to see once you've done it :)
