Saran Wrap Nails - Purple & White - Triplet Nails

Hi everyone,

I've been very excited about today's post; 'Triplet Nails' with my two favourite bloggers, Aimée from Pinkglow's Pretty Polish, and Madison from Fundamentally Flawless - yay! We thought we would try a technique that none of us had tried yet, and we settled on Saran Wrap Nails.

After looking at some tutorials I thought it looked pretty easy to do, but it took me quite a few attempts to get the hang of it! I think the problem was that I was being impatient and not waiting for the first coat of polish to dry before continuing.

I had planned to do a mint green and gold colour scheme but they didn't stand out enough. I then tried neons on white but for some reason they kept turning out really messy. In the end I decided to try Barry M's Bikini on top of white and finished it off with Barry M's Matte Top Coat. I really like the effect, I think it looks like a Chinese porcelain plate.

If I were to do it again I'd make a bit more white come through so the effect would be more obvious at a distance.

I really enjoyed trying a new technique, I've got a few more that I want to try too. I'll definitely be doing this one again though, maybe using a few different colours next time. Any suggestions on what colours I could use?

Below are Aimée's and Madison's Saran Wrap nails.

I love both of these, especially the colours! Click on the pictures or links above to visit their blogs and to read more about their designs :)

  1. I love that all three of you are doing a post together - it's such a great idea! The colours you've used are so nice and your design does remind me of a Chinese porcelain plate too! :)
