Lifestyle: My Week

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd have a go at my first lifestyle post by getting a bit personal and showing you what I've been up to this week, my purchases, the blog posts I've enjoyed reading, etc. So a round-up of my week basically - I hope you enjoy it :)

What I've been up to.
It's currently my summer holidays and although I am thoroughly enjoying my time off from university, I am already getting quite bored! Most days I take next door's dog (Sid) out for a walk for a few hours because he has been getting bored through the day so I'm keeping him company. He's keeping me company too though, especially as I miss my dog Dylan a lot when I'm away from home. My boyfriend has got a summer internship and is out all day so I'm trying to find things to do, as our summer plans have sort of gone down the drain now that he's working so much. Sid's owner gave me these lovely OPI polishes to say thank you for looking after him which was really kind of her. They're my first OPIs and I'm loving them so far. And as she is a beauty therapist she treated me to a hot stone back massage on Friday - it was amazing!

Sid was watching Spongebob, not me... :D

My first OPI's!

I need to really start planning some activities because I don't want to waste my last ever summer holiday! So far I've done some work experience in a school which had it's ups and downs. And starting next week I'll be going back into the lab to do some research, I do this voluntarily to get some experience. I'm currently working on cleaning up nuclear waste which is very interesting.

Holiday.

I'm going to Barcelona in a week and a bit! I'm very excited but also a bit nervous as it's my first city break, and I'm not sure if I'm going to enjoy all the sight-seeing and public transport - I'm more of a relax by the pool kind of person! I need to start planning what to do when I get there though as there's going to be a lot to see and do, and I need to fit it all into 4 days. Has anyone been to Barcelona and have any recommendations?

Purchases.

I was in one of those moods where I felt the need to buy loads of expensive make up, but that was never going to happen so I went for a wander around Boots and picked myself up these few things instead...

I had been after Max Factor's Colour Corrector sticks for a little while but couldn't find them anywhere, so I was happy to finally find them and try them out. I decided to get just one; Under Eye Circle Corrector. I'm liking it so far and will have a review of it up in the next week or two.

I love Aussie so was very excited to find that they had brought out a range of dry shampoos. I've reviewed this here - go take a look :)

The highlight of my week was finding these Sinful Colors polishes on the clearance stand in Boots! Since Boots stopped selling them a few weeks ago I've been searching everywhere to find them, especially Snow Me White, so I was ridiculously excited when I found 2 Snow Me Whites on the stand. There were no other colours though. I asked the man at the till if he could check if they had anymore but for some reason he got very confused and didn't know what I meant... strange.

Blogs.

I really enjoyed reading these posts this week...

Here are my posts from this week...

The Aussie post was my first hair product review. I decided not long ago to start posting about other beauty products every so often rather than just all nails, and I'm quite enjoying it!

Giveaway.

As I reached 1000 Twitter followers during Wednesday's #bbloggers chat, and reached 1000 Instagram followers last month too, I am doing a giveaway to celebrate! Stay tuned for more details :)

I hope you've enjoyed this post! I'm going to try and do one every week or two and see how it goes. Any suggestions just let me know :)

  3. I think this is a great post to have in between your nail posts! Sid is so cute and it's so nice of your neighbour to buy you some OPI polishes! Ooh I cannot wait to see your max factor review - I've been thinking of buying their Under Eye Circle Corrector so I'd love to see what you think! You are so lucky that you managed to find 2 Snow me Whites - it's my favourite white nail polish! Congratulations on your followers too! :)

    1. Thanks, I thought it would be nice to give it a go :) I know, I couldn't believe it! Although she has now started an OPI obsession haha. I'll have a review up of the corrector stick when I get back from my holiday, I like it so far though. It does make a difference, but my only problem is that it's difficult to apply to oily skin :/

  4. Just wanted to say this blog has helped me find some great products to get back into nail art. I just went out this week and got some new nail pens and can't wait to try out the stripes!

Thank you for an awesome resource!
