Barry M Autumn/Winter 2014 Gelly Nail Paints - Swatches*

It seems like the sun has had enough for this year and autumn is on it's way. As much as I love summer I am secretly looking forward to getting out my jumpers, scarves, and boots, and I'm sure quite a few of you out there will agree! The one thing I dislike about autumn (apart from the dreary rain!) is the colours - I love summer brights, especially on my nails, but these new releases from Barry M have got me craving warm autumn tones.

Barry M have added 6 new autumnal shades to their Gelly Hi Shine collection (always an exciting time for nail polish lovers!) and I've got swatches and a review of them to show you!

From left to right we have Paprika*, Cardamom*, Mustard*, Chai*, Chilli*, and Cocoa*.

Swatches

Mustard

I am so happy to see a mustard yellow in the collection! I like this one so much more than I expected.

Chai
I'm not usually a fan of grey, but maybe it will grow on me!

Cardamom
I'm loving greens at the moment!

Cocoa
A lovely dark chocolate colour. Again, I'm not a fan of brown but it's nice to add one to my collection.

If you're wondering why there's a line across my middle finger, it's because my nail snapped and I had to do a teabag repair (Google it). Swatching and nail breaks are worst enemies!

Review

I'm loving these additions to the Gelly range! I think Barry M have got their AW14 range spot on - the colours are perfect for autumn! The formulas are similar to those of the other Gellys; smooth application, vibrant colours, shiny finish, and although I've used two coats in my swatches you could definitely get away with just one for most of them. These are going to make a great addition to my collection and I'm looking forward to getting started on some autumn-style nail art with them!

If I had to recommend just one then I'd go for Mustard because it's the most unusual and you've probably not got one like it!

Which is your favourite?

The Autumn 2014 Gellys will be available at Superdrug from 27th August, and Boots from 3rd September, priced at £3.99 each.

Who's going to be first in line on release day then?!

  1. Soooooo pretty! I love Paprika! Quite like the look of Mustard too which I didn't expect to as I'm not keen on yellow polishes on their own x

    1. Thank you very much! :) It's between Mustard and Chilli. Mustard because I've not got another polish anything like it, and Chilli because it's stunning, one of those you can't stop staring at! x

  6. Awesome swatches. Definitely in love with Mustard, I always use mustard as a default in most of my online artwork, so I'm going to have to pick this one up to keep within my theme!

    Awesome post!
