Max Factor Colour Corrector Stick - Under Eye Dark Circles

I've got a makeup post for you today featuring Max Factor's Under Eye Circle Colour Corrector Stick. I've always had horrible dark circles and they really get me down, so I'm always on the lookout for products that will hide them.

The yellow in the stick neutralises the purple tones in under eye circles and brightens the area - just what I need!

This post has some comparison pictures to show you how much of a difference it makes, followed by a review - I hope you enjoy it!

The top left picture shows my natural dark circles with nothing covering them (to be honest my dark circles don't look that bad in this picture, but from further back they are quite prominent!). The top right shows it with one 'layer' of Colour Corrector, I'm quite fair yet the product still shows up very light against my skin, so I go over it with concealer that is closer to my skin tone, as you can see in the bottom left picture. And the bottom right shows my dark circles covered with just concealer and no Colour Corrector.

You can see that the Colour Corrector brightens the area much more than concealer alone and neutralises the purple towards the corner of my eye. I only used one layer of Colour Corrector, you can add more to build up the coverage but I am wary of it starting to look cakey.

I like this product, but I'm not going to rave about it. I find it quite difficult to apply and blend in, especially if my skin is oily. It's quite drying too. Maybe it would apply better over a primer? I have been meaning to get Max Factor's Facefinity primer as I've heard great things about it! It does hide my dark circles though and brightens the under eye area which I'm very happy about. As it comes as a crayon it is very easy to apply precisely, and great for carrying around in your bag.

If you're thinking of getting it then I'd definitely recommend trying it in a shop first to see what you think of the formula. I'd love to know your thoughts on it!

Max Factor currently have 5 Colour Corrector Sticks aimed at different imperfections and are available from Boots for £9.99 each, although they are currently on a 3 for 2 offer (us bbloggers do love a good makeup offer!).

Have you tried the Under Eye Colour Corrector or any of the other correctors in the range? Let me know what you think by leaving a comment below :)

  2. This is a really good review, you so often see bloggers write about a product but they don't show you any comparison photos. Good job! x

    1. Thanks! That really annoys me which is why I decided to do comparison photos - I'm glad you like it :) x
