Guest Post - Sherbert London - 'My Top 5 Skincare'

Hi everyone!

Today I've got a guest post by Kerry from Sherbert London.

Three things I love about Sherbert London:

  • 'What's in my travel bag/camping travel bag' posts,
  • Beauty Box reviews,
  • Kerry's love for nail polish!

Plus, Kerry is pretty amazing, I absolutely love chatting with her and I am so glad I came across her blog. I'll add links to the bottom for you to follow her (and you definitely should!). Enjoy the post!

Sherbert London - 'My Top 5 Skincare'

Hello! I'm Kerry from Sherbert London - my blog is all about beauty for beginners and my journey through playing with make-up and skincare. I also have a passion for nailcare and a slight obsession with nail polish. Today I am bringing you a little introduction into my favourite skincare.

Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Day Cream | £4.99 now £3.49

I am really loving the Botanics range at the moment - there are a variety of ranges to suit most skin types and the products are nearly always on offer in Boots. I have combination skin so I have been trying out a few items from the Shine Away range (ideal for oily to combination skin). This mattifying cream has a lightweight formula that tightens pores without blocking them. It gives you 5* UVA protection, is paraben free and is not tested on animals. It contains Salicylic Acid so it is okay to use if you have Keratosis Pilaris read more about that here.

I've been using this cream for two weeks in the mornings and I have noticed that my face is not as oily as it has been. The cream itself is light and fluffy, it is more like a thick lotion than a cream. It barely has a fragrance, unless you stick your nose in the pot. I really recommend the Botanics range to anyone, it has something for everyone!

Simple Kind To Eyes Eye Make-Up Remover 50ml | £1.50

The Simple Eye Make-Up remover really does what it says on the tin, it is very kind to eyes. It is very gentle and soothing, it is not greasy or oily which is great for oily/ combination skin. The packaging does say that it efficiently removes waterproof but I found that it does not remove Benefit's They're Real Pushup Liner.
I use this with cotton pads to remove my eye make-up and then follow up with a full face cleanser.

Caudalie Organic Grape Water | £10

This is a toning mist made from 100% organic grapes extracted straight from harvest. It refreshes, tones and moisturises your face. I use this every evening after I have cleansed my skin as I use a different toner in the mornings. Simply spray the mist onto your face after you cleanse in the mornings and evenings for tighter pores and less oily skin.

Nails inc Vitamin E Cuticle Oil Pen | £14

If you do not oil your cuticles every day then you need to start! Using cuticle oil helps to prevent hang nails, hydrates the nails and cuticles, prevents splitting, peeling, breaking and flaking. I used to have really flakey cuticles and I would always pick at them. After using this for the past few weeks my cuticles have become very soft and I hardly ever get hang nails. I recently received this as part of a prize from a competition and i've had it with me every single day since I got it.

To use, simply twist the bottom of the stick - just one click is enough for one hand. Brush the pen on your cuticles and over the skin around the nails, then massage the oil into the skin and nails. They recommend using a cuticle oil twice a day but I found that just once a day is enough.

Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Care | £2.80

This is my lifesaver at the moment, when the seasons change my lips get really dry. This provides quick relief for when my lips feel too dry but also leaves my lips feeling moisturised for a long time after use. It is also SPF20 making it suitable all year round!

I'm all about moisturising my skin and looking after it. I am still fairly new in the skincare game and I like to try new things all the time. I tend to buy products that are on offer but I will definitely be repurchasing all of these again! I hope you're all having a great day and a big thank you to Lauren for having me!
