Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). The majority of people are aware of breast cancer but not as many are aware of the common symptoms and steps to take in order to spot breast cancer in its early stages. Early diagnosis is so important which is why it is vital to be aware of the symptoms, check yourself regularly, seek help if something's not right, and encourage others to do the same.

October sees people raise awareness of Breast Cancer in many different ways, one of them being painting your nails pink! Even Beyoncé got involved last year, see her pink nails here! Today's post brings some BCAM nail art - I hope you like it!

I was really proud of these but the camera really didn't do them justice!

I used all Barry M nail paints for my design, including Ballerina, Pomegranate, Chai, White, and their Matte Top Coat. I love that Barry M support Coppafeel's #WhatNormalFeelsLike campaign and often raise awareness on their social media sites. I love the work that Coppafeel do to raise awareness of breast cancer all year round. If you aren't familiar with them then you definitely need to check them out!

'We’re on a mission to stamp out late detection of breast cancer. We ensure that you know the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, know what your boobs look and feel like normally, check your boobs regularly throughout your lifetime and have the confidence to see a doctor if you notice anything that doesn’t feel right for you.' Last year I raised awareness and money for Breast Cancer by painting BCAM designs onto false nails and selling them to friends and family, giving half of the money to charities. I didn't raise a lot but I know what I did raise will have made a difference. It was great using my hobby for such a great cause.

This year I planned to do something bigger and better - I wanted to hold a charity event. It would be primarily for bloggers and there would be music, food, raffles, and a lot of pink. I thought it would raise quite a lot of money. Unfortunately I didn't get enough interest, probably because there's not many bloggers here in the North West, but I am determined to make it happen next year!

Anyway, I hope you like my BCAM nails! Don't forget to get involved by painting your nails pink too, they don't have to be anything fancy! I'd love to see your BCAM nails and to hear any ways you have raised/are raising money for Breast Cancer - leave me a comment, tweet me, Facebook me, or email me using the buttons in the side bar :)

Don't forget to check out some of these amazing breast cancer charities (click to visit each one - they're not showing as links for some reason but they are clickable!)...
