Robin Nail Art Tutorial

Firstly, I want to apologise for the lack of blog posts and for going quiet on social media recently. I've had a lot of Uni work to do, and while I often wish it was the other way round, Uni has to take precedence over blogging (soooo inconvenient!). Things have quietened down a bit now though so I can catch up! I feel awful though because I'm a finalist in The Bloggers' Lounge Blogger of the Year Awards (please vote!) and I've been such a bad blogger over the last few weeks! Anyway, for December I have planned some Christmas nail art tutorials, some swatches that I haven't managed to post yet, and I'm also going to throw in a few lifestyle posts with days out, DIY Christmas decorations, and maybe some baking. Exciting!

So, my first post for December is a nail art tutorial! This cute little Robin is fairly easy to do and only requires a few colours and tools.

I have used all Barry M Nail Paints for this design; Coco, Copa Cabana, Matt White, and Black. I also used a small brush (or you can use a dotting tool). I think this design would look great on shorter nails! My nails are quite long so I have done the design on the lower half of them.

I did have a more complicated version of this design with wings and more details but the tutorial became too long and it was difficult to show you what I was trying to do. In January I'm going to start doing tutorial videos on YouTube so I can show you how to do more intricate designs as it will be easier for me to explain each step (I'm working on a video for the Autumn Mosaic design that a lot of you requested a tutorial for at the moment!).

I would pair this little Robin with Mustard, Chilli, Cardamom, and Coco from Barry M's AW14 Gelly range wearing a different one on each nail (a bit like this) and using the Robin as an accent nail. How would you wear it?

I hope you like the tutorial! I'd love to see your recreations so tag me in your Tweets/Instagram posts or leave me a link to your blog post below :)

Keep checking back for more Christmas nail art tutorials and if you have any requests then let me know!
