You may have seen my post last night showing you a quick preview of Barry M's Spring 2015 range (if not then have a nosey here). Today I've got swatches of the three new additions to their very much loved Gelly Nail Paint range!
L-R: Sky Blue*, Cotton*, Fondant*
A beautiful lavender shade that's perfect for Spring! I can't decide if this suits me or not but it's still very pretty. For some reason it looks pink in the picture above but it is most definitely the lavender shade you see below.
Two coats, no top coat
I love blue polishes! The formula of this was quite runny and required three coats rather than the usual two for Gellys. I'm not a fan of the formula but the colour is definitely me!
Three coats, no top coat
I have compared Sky Blue with Elderberry and Huckleberry. As you can see they're all very different but I wanted to give you a better idea of the colour of Sky Blue.
When I first looked at Cotton in the bottle I thought it was an off-white and maybe similar to Coconut, but after trying it this morning it is definitely just white. That sounded so stupid, how do you even describe white! Clean? Bright? Anyway, it's a definite white, no hints of any other colour in there!
Two coats, no top coat
I think you have to be fairly brave to wear all white nails and I'm not quite there, so this is going to be my new favourite white base for nail art instead.
I have compared Cotton with Barry M's Matt White and Coconut. Cotton and Matt White are the same colour but Cotton has the shiny finish and chip-resistant formula of the Gellys. Cotton is much more opaque too, requiring two coats whereas Matt White requires three.
I've already mentioned that Sky Blue was quite runny. I found Fondant and Cotton to be slightly thinner in consistency to the previous Gellys but they are still very easy to apply and all three have the glossy, gel-like finish that we have come to know and love of the Gelly range. I'm a big fan of Barry M's Gellys and I'm really liking these new additions!
Fondant, Sky Blue and Cotton will be released in Superdrug on 11th February, and Boots on 18th February, priced at £3.99 each.
What do you think of these three shades? Which is your favourite? Leave me a comment below!
