Nail Polish of the Month - January

Hello!

I'm excited to announce a new series on my blog for 2015! There's a problem though... I haven't got a name for it yet. The idea is that every month I am going to share with you my favourite nail polish of that month. With there being so many polishes out there it's difficult to know which ones you really *need* in your life, so I'm hoping this series will help you decide which polishes to look out for when it comes to treating yourself.

So, back to the name. 'Nail Polish of The Month - January' is a bit boring and I've been trying to think of a catchy name for a while but can't seem to come up with one. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated, feel free to leave me a comment or send me and email (button in side bar). Anyway, the winner...

January's Nail Polish Pick...

Barry M 'Ballerina'

I've worn this polish quite a few times this month - it's so pretty! In the picture above you can see it in my Candy Stripe nail art, and above that is my swatch from my swatch and review post.

It's not just me that has been loving Ballerina, a few of my university friends have had it on their nails too. And you may have seen my tweet a few weeks ago...

It's a nice winter to spring transitional shade. I very quickly got fed up of wearing darker shades over winter and was desperate to start wearing some lighter colours!

What do you think of Ballerina? Do you have a particular nail polish that has stood out to you this month? Leave me a comment!

I'm predicting that February's Nail Polish of the Month (fingers crossed we come up with a better name than that before then!) is going to be a tough choice as we are expecting loads of new releases; O.P.I Hawaii, new Barry M Spring Gellys (swatches here) and Speedy Nail Paints, as well as new Models Own HyperGels and their Icing collection to name a few! Which are you most excited about?!

  3. Ballerina is also one of my favourites! I love that it's not the typical candy floss pink.
As for this month, I'm excited to find out about the MO Icing polishes and I'll definitely be going after the new Gellys. Unfortunately not looking forward to Hawaii, from what I've seen anyway, the colours just don't appeal :(

    1. I'm looking forward to seeing Icing collection swatches! Have you seen pictures of the new HyperGels yet? The duck egg blue shade looks gorgeous! There's two shades in the Hawaii collection that I really like (mint green and orange) but there's a yellow one that looks awful!

    2. I have seen the bottle shots of the HyperGels, not seen any swatches yet tho so . I'm hoping my little local Superdrug has caught up with the rest of the world and started stocking the new collections so I can see them in real life. And yes that yellow frosty OPI glitter is bizarre!!

  4. I'm not a huge fan of light pink shades unless they're barely there pinks but this one is very pretty and obviously very reasonably priced. I think my favourite shade of the month would be OPI's Kiss me - or Elf! I became a little obsessed with the Gwen Stefani Holiday collection around Christmas and managed to pick up several shades in various sales x

    1. I'm the same, I don't tend to wear pinks but I love Ballerina.

Oooh I really wanted that collection, I just have so much unused nail varnish atm that I couldn't bring myself to buy any new ones :(
