Nella Milano Nail Polish - Swatches & Review*

Hello!

I've got another new nail polish brand to show you today (I just can't get enough of new brands lately - it's all very exciting!). Nella Milano is a French brand and stands for 'effortlessly stylish, elegant and fashionable'. They have only just launched and have a range of lovely colours (I'm eyeing up the pastels!), and I am lucky enough to have two of them to show you.

Cabaret Charm*
It felt so good to have a bright colour on my nails after wearing 'wintery' colours for so long! I wouldn't say there's anything particularly special about the colour, but I like the application and the finish. What I really liked about this red compared to most other red polishes, is that it didn't stain my skin - a big thumbs up! My swatch shows two coats with no top coat.

Peach Schnapps*
A very light shade of peach, at a quick glance you'd probably mistake it for a light, baby pink instead. This is quite a sheer polish, as pale shades usually are, so I have used 3 coats and I haven't added a top coat. I wore this for a couple of days and it really started to grow on me, it's got me very excited for Spring and pastel colours too.

Review
I love the brushes; they're thin which allows for a precise application, but if you press down they flatten out to cover the whole nail. This makes the application both quick and easy. The formulas are thin but not runny, so they applied smoothly and the drying time was pretty quick. The finishes are fairly glossy without a top coat but I'd probably add one anyway when wearing these for a few days to add a bit of extra shine.

Nail Art - hearts
Here's a quick bit of nail art I did using Peach Schnapps and Cabaret Charm. I've not done any nail art in a while due to being busy and I've sort of lost all inspiration, so this was just a little something to get me back into it.

Considering I used three coats of Peach Schnapps in my swatches, I was amazed at how opaque it was over the bright red. This is just one 'coat' of Peach Schnapps as well, I didn't need to go over it again.

So, what do you think of Nella Milano polishes? If you fancy seeing some swatches of some of their other colours, head over to Nail Lacquer UK's blog

As I said at the beginning, they have only just launched, but the polishes are available to buy from their website now (priced at £8.95). You can follow them using the links below to keep up to date too.

I'm excited about Nella Milano from what I have tried so far. I love Peach Schnapps, and the formulas and application of them both was great. Let me know what you think of them!

  2. Yes, I should have mentioned the packaging! The first thing I said when I opened the packet was 'Ooooh I like the lids!' haha :)

  3. I'd never have chosen that peach colour, but it looks so nice! Very simple and really suits you.

I've just been sent some of these to review too - different colours - should have a review up in the next few days if you're interested.
