nailbox Review* - April Box

Hello!

I've got an exciting post today about a brand new nail polish subscription box called nailbox*. This is a new concept in the world of beauty and beauty boxes as the box contains only nail items rather than the mix of cosmetics you receive in an ordinary beauty box. You may have heard of Coloristiq which is a nail polish rental subscription box, however nailbox is more like a beauty box where you get to keep the contents but you won't know what items you will be receiving until it arrives!

Each box contains 5 nail items (3 or 4 nail polishes and 1 or 2 nail tools or treatments). nailbox aims to bring you high quality polishes from some of the biggest brands worldwide at a very affordable price each month, and you'll never receive the same polish twice.

The contents of April's box is super bright with perfect spring/summer shades.

OPI - Kiss Me On My Tulips
A beautiful and bright pinky-fuschia. I am in love with this colour, I had it on for five days and I very rarely keep one shade on for that long!
2 coats

Essie - Muchi Muchi
3 coats
A very delicate shade that would be suitable for the office, even more so with just one or two coats as it is very sheer, giving a natural look. I'm wearing three coats here as I wanted to build up the colour. I plan to do some gradient nail art with Muchi Muchi and Revlon's Buttercup (below), I think they'll look great together.

Revlon - Buttercup
3 coats
I was very excited to find this in my box as I have been after a pale yellow polish ready for spring and summer. I know quite a few people aren't keen on yellow but delicate shades like this aren't too 'in your face'. It's going to look lovely once I've got a bit of a tan on my hands!

China Glaze - Peachy Keen
2 coats
I don't think this colour really suits me but it's a nice shade nevertheless. It's the kind of shade I wear on my toes through summer!

Essie - Nail File
The final product is an Essie Nail File. I wouldn't say there's anything particularly special about it but it's a nice little extra, especially as I go through so many nail files.

Availability
The April nailbox is limited edition and there are only 100 available so be quick if you want one (you have until the 20th April - I think - to buy it). You can subscribe on the nailbox website, prices are between £13.50 and £15 per month (delivery is free) depending on the length of your subscription.

Overall
I love this box, the shades are perfect for this time of year and the brands are all fantastic and of very high quality. It's such good value for money too when you consider the prices of these polishes individually (OPI polishes usually retail for £11 alone!). A huge thumbs up from me!

I'd love to know what you think of April's nailbox and what your favourite item is, so leave me a comment below! If you are planning on purchasing a box then don't forget to do it over the next few days as May's box will be replacing it on the 21st April!

  3. I really like the idea of this one as obviously I'm a big fan of nail varnish and my collection is growing rapidly, although I do seem to be throwing quite a few out recently as some just don't seem to last very long. My only issue would be the shades, for example, in this box the yellow and peachy/orange just would not suit me. I'm also not a fan of blue nail varnish and some greens, basically I'm quite picky! I do love OPI Kiss me on my tulips though and think mum might have that downstairs actually x

    1. That's a shame :( I find that mine last really well, apart from glitters, I only get a few months out of them before they go too gloopy to use. Wow you are quite picky haha! I'll wear anything apart from brown or black x

  8. When I was first reading about this box I was thinking it would be overwhelming getting three or four colours every month, especially when you think of all the other colours from other brands out there that we need (yes need) to get, but I like that you can buy them one month and not the next. That's a great idea so you can treat yourself to a mystery box without being tied down to every month! I love Kiss Me On My Tulips and Muchi Muchi on you x

  9. This makes me so happy! I know lots of bbloggers have talked about beauty boxes for yonks but finally there is a nail one for us! I think the colour selection is great in this one, my favourite is also the pastel yellow. Do you happen to know if everyone receives the same items in their box or if it varies? xx
