Barry M Speedy Nail Paints - Summer 2015 - Swatches

In February we were treated to a brand new nail range from Barry M - the Speedy Nail Paint collection. I'm still very much in love with the pretty pastel shades and the flat brush that makes the application a dream, so I was ridiculously excited to find out that six new shades were being added for summer; three summer brights and three shimmers.

Along the bottom, L-R: Need For Speed*, On Your Marks*, Turbo Charged*,
Get Set Go*, Speed Demon*, Supersonic*.

Get Set Go
3 coats, no top coat
I love this colour! It's perfect for summer. The formula is nice and very pigmented. 2 coats would have been enough but the third really evened it out. I did some summer nail art with Get Set Go that you can see here.

Need For Speed
3 coats, no top coat
I really like this colour. I'm very picky with purples because most are too dark for my liking, this one's a very summery purple though so I'm happy! Again the formula was nice and the third coat finished it off nicely.

On Your Marks
3 coats, no top coat
I know a lot of people were happy to see a yellow! I'm not a huge fan of yellow so don't think I'll be wearing it on it's own, it will fit nice in some nail art though.

Speed Demon
3 coats, no top coat
A baby pink with a silver shimmer. I found this one so difficult to apply; the first two times I used it I was getting bubbles all over my nails. It doesn't dry very quick either. It's pretty but I can't be doing with the hassle of redoing nails to be honest.

3 coats, no top coat
My favourite! This picture really doesn't do it justice, it has a beautiful indigo shimmer to it that really shines in the sunlight. Next time I wear it I'll get a picture of it in the sun for you, it's beautiful!

Turbo Charged
3 coats, no top coat
I love this colour; it's a red-coral with a silver shimmer. Perfect for the beach!

I've briefly mentioned the formulas above, but in all honesty I really don't like the formulas of the shimmers; they formed little bubbles on the nail and I kept smudging them because they weren't particularly quick-drying. They're beautiful polishes but I really don't think they belong in the Speedy range. I found them too difficult to apply, and with the increased drying time they're not as convenient as a Speedy polish should be in my opinion. I still can't recommend Supersonic enough though; I forgive it for its not so great formula because it is just too beautiful. The three non-shimmers have great formulas though and I think all three colours would be a great addition to any collection. I'm still loving the flat brush, it makes nail painting much quicker and less messy!

If I had to pick two then I'd choose Supersonic because it's unique, and Get Set Go because it is bright and beautiful and will probably be on my nails for most of summer!

The new Barry M Summer Speedys are available to buy now from Boots and Superdrug priced at £3.99 each, along with the rest of the Speedy Nail Paint range that you can see here.

What do you think of these new additions? Have you tried any yet? Let me know which is your favourite!
