Summer Gradient Nail Art

I hope you've all been enjoying the lovely weather this week. At risk of sounding extremely British, it has been a bit too hot for me, the heat is so draining! Before I show you my nail art I have a little announcement/update for you. Most of you probably know that I am (well was) a student, and I found out earlier this week that I'll be graduating as Master of Chemistry this July! And it gets better... I'll be graduating with a First! I'm so happy and relieved that it's finally over. I have nothing lined up in terms of a job or further study just yet, I just don't know what I want to do, so I'm enjoying a well deserved break at the moment.

Anyway, here's the nail art I was wearing over the weekend...

I used all OPI nail polishes for this design, creating a gradient with 'Is Mai Tai Crooked?', 'Do You Take Lei Way?', and 'Kiss Me On My Tulips' (click the names for swatches and reviews of each one).

It's not your typical gradient where you tend to see one colour going from light to dark, so I do think it looks a bit odd. A nice odd though! I wanted to put pink on the ends next to the nude so it'd catch people's eyes - it seemed to work!

I'm really starting to get back into gradients now that I've got a less-messy way to do them (I've been using 'Mess Free Mani' by Nail Mail), so expect to be seeing many more!

I'd love to know what you think of this design - leave me a comment below.

  1. Oooo I kinda like this, lovely colours used =]

  2. This is so pretty! I love how the colours work together :)
