nailbox - July 2015 - Tropical Treats

Today I've got the July nailbox* to show you and I'm very excited about it (it's a good 'un)! If you haven't heard of nailbox yet then, firstly, where have you been?! and secondly, it's a monthly nail polish subscription box aimed at nail polish lovers that I am absolutely loving! You can find out more about it on the nailbox website or in my previous blog posts (April box, June box).

As I have been in Thailand for the last three weeks I've only just received my box, so apologies for the delay with the post!

The theme of July's box is Tropical Treats. Here's what's inside...

MoYou London Stamping Plate - Tropical Collection (12)
I was so excited to find this in my box - everyone raves about these stamping plates but I hadn't tried them until now. The plate has leafy designs and palm trees which fits perfectly with the Tropical Treats theme. Although I was excited about the plate I didn't get my hopes up as I've never had much luck with stamping; I've tried other brands of stamping plates before and I just can't get them to work. Amazingly I got it right first time with this set so I'm very happy! It seems that the problems I've had previously have been down to the set I've been using rather than something I was doing wrong because this time round I had no trouble whatsoever. You can see the designs I've done further down the post.

MoYou London Stamper & Scraper
To go with your stamping plate you get a stamper and scraper that come in a cute little pouch. I really like the stamper - it's much more squidgy and sort of sticky compared to my other stampers and it picks up the stamp perfectly. It works really well and, in my opinion, is much better than the firm stampers I've used previously.

OPI - Kiss Me I'm Brazilian
2 coats, no top coat
I'm always happy to add another OPI polish to my collection - I absolutely love them! The formula of this Barbie pink shade is great; it applies smoothly and effortlessly, giving an even and super glossy finish.

Barry M - Need For Speed
3 coats, no top coat
I love Barry M's Speedy Nail Paint range; the flat brush (picture here) and fast-drying formula make painting your nails so quick and easy. I've used three coats in my swatch but you can easily get away with just two. Need For Speed features in my Top 5 Summer Nail Polishes post as voted for by my Instagram followers.

China Glaze - White on White
2 coats, no top coat
I only have a couple of China Glaze polishes in my collection so I was happy to find another one in my box. White on White isn't the best white I've used - I found it a bit runny - but it's opaque in two coats and works well for stamping which is better than most white polishes I've tried! I like that it's a really clean white too (if that makes sense?!).

Elegant Touch Nail Apothecary - Cuticle Eliminator
Elegant Touch products have made quite a few appearances in nailbox now. It's a brand that I trust and know works well so I'm always happy to try new nail care products from them. I usually use a cuticle cream or oil for my cuticles, but I've not tried a cuticle remover like this before. You brush it on to your cuticles and leave it on for 1-2 minutes, push the cuticles, then rinse it off with warm water. If you received the June nailbox you could try using your Elegant Touch Cuticle Nippers with it.

As I said before, I've always struggled with stamping and find it extremely frustrating. I'm completely in love with my new MoYou set though; I got every nail right first time and didn't have to redo any nails. I'm very happy!

I've done two designs below with the polishes and stamping set from this box and there will be plenty more coming soon!

This is definitely my favourite nailbox so far. I'm always so impressed with nailbox, I've never felt let down by the contents. July's box has raised the bar; the addition of the stamping set is what made it special for me. Considering I hated stamping before, I've now been introduced to a new brand that I find so easy to use and will definitely be making a purchase from in the near future. You can see how much thought and effort goes into each box and the products are always of high quality - keep up the great work nailbox!

The July nailbox is available to buy up until 20th August, if you subscribe after then you will receive the August 'Summer Style' box (I'm already ridiculously excited to see what will be inside!). The price is between £13.50 and £15 depending on your subscription type - more information and how to subscribe can be found on the nailbox website.

Edit - I think I've made a mistake. If you subscribe now you'll receive the August box. I'm not 100% sure to be honest! I'm very confused! Maybe send nailbox a quick message to check before buying!

I'd love to know what you think of the July nailbox so leave me a comment below. Oh, and if you have a favourite MoYou stamping plate then please let me know - I need more!

  1. I've always really struggled with stamping which is a shame as it's a method I'd really like to be able to master and use. I have several MoYou London plates but I think the stamper I chose might be the problem, it just never seems to pick anything up. The only thing I'm not keen on in this box is the white shade, as I have several already, so I think I might order it and try out a different stamper x

    1. Yeah it could be the stamper. This was my first time using the squishy-style stamper and it's the first time I've managed to stamp without any hassle! Check with nailbox first before you order because I have a feeling it might be the August box you'll receive now. It isn't very clear on the website :/

  2. Very pretty polishes and designs =]

  3. What a fantastic box content. Love the polishes and the stamping plate and of course your nail art too!

  4. I've previously been a bit meh about nailbox but this one actually looks worthwhile!

    1. Ah really? It's definitely my favourite beauty box out there by far, but yes this box is really good!

  5. I love MoYou plates - Princess and Kitty plates are really pretty, but there are loads of ones that I'd get! :-)

  6. Especially thanks for your sharing well post. I will say about writing through may site. You can see it.
